Why should choose Saint-Gobain's metal frames?

Saint-Gobain's metal frames are well known for superior quality, strengths, and longevity. Their metal frames are made from high-quality steels with 120 to 150 GSM Zinc coating along with high-pressure knurling or serration processes. That's why senior architects and ceiling experts are recommending Saint-Gobain's metal frames for their clients.

How Saint-Gobain's metal frames are better than local metal frames?

To understand the difference, we should first know about the G.I sheets, in other words, galvanized iron sheets. When iron sheets are getting processed under the hot Zinc coating process, we call them G.I sheets. The Zinc coating protects the iron sheet from corrosion by resisting adverse weather conditions such as moistures, seashore wind, etc.

The local metal frames are manufacturing from the G.I sheets that already went through the Zinc coating process, while Saint-Gobain's metal frames are getting the Zinc coating after its final shape. Usually, the local metal frames are making through the rolling machines, which involves cutting, pressing, bending, punching, etc. The channel should pass all these processes before it gets its final shape. The Zinc coating is getting punctured or affected during these processes, and it leads the metal frames vulnerable to rust and corrosion.

Moreover, local metal frames' G.I sheets having only less than 80 GSM of Zinc coating, while Saint-Gobain's metal frames having a minimum of 120 GSM Zinc coating. More Zinc coating means better and longer resistance against corrosion. That's the main reason why we think that Saint-Gobain's metal frames are way better than any other local metal frames circulating in the current market. You may have a question at this point. Gyproc ceiling's recommended installation method

The installation part plays a crucial role in the gypsum plasterboard false ceiling's life. If you don't care much about the proper installation, there is no meaning in investing your money in Saint-Gobain's metal frames and Gyproc accessories. To the plasterboard false ceiling's life and seamless finish, the proper installation takes a 50% part while metal frames and accessories do the rest. So please refer to the following steps to make sure that your Gyproc ceiling gets installed properly.

  1. Ceiling Angle: The Ceiling Angle is an L-shaped metal frame, and it will be suspended from the roof to the false ceiling level using Gyproc's genuine Rawl Plug, Soffit Cleats (L-Cleat), and M6 Bolt Nut. You should make sure the distance between each suspended angle should not exceed 4 feet and connected the Ceiling Angle to the Soffit Cleat with the M6 bolt nut.
  2. Perimeter Channel: The Perimeter Channel is a U-shaped metal frame, and it will be fixed to the wall at the false ceiling level using 35mm long Metal Wood Screws with Nylon. The distance between each screw should not exceed 1.5 Feet.
  3. Intermediate Channel: The Intermediate Channel is a C-shaped metal frame, and it will be attached to the Ceiling Angle using two no's of Gyproc's Metal to Metal Screws. Please do not use the Drywall Screws (black star screws) to attach it.
  4. Ceiling Section: The Ceiling Section is the larger metal frame among the 4 metal frames. It will be connected underneath the Intermediate Channels in the cross direction at a maximum distance of 1.5 Feet using Gyproc's Connecting Clip.
  5. Plasterboard: The regular gypsum plasterboard size is 1829 x 1219 x 12.5 mm (6 x 4 Feet x 0.5 Inch). The plasterboard should be fixed to the bottom of the Ceiling Sections in the staggered layout using Gyproc's 25 mm long Drywall Screws. The distance between each screw on the same channel should not exceed 1 Foot, and the screw's head should not go inside more than 2 mm from the plasterboard's surface to avoid plasterboard sagging.
  6. Joint Finish: Gyproc recommends applying three to four coats of joint putty wider than 450 mm at the final coat with paper tape. But we recommend one or two coats with the same breadth as the tapered edge with fiber tape to retain maximum plasterboard surfaces, which help the painters to apply the full-surface putty evenly without spoiling the plasterboard surface. We recommend two coats of cross-directional full-surface putty less than 1 mm thick to achieve undulation-free surfaces while minimizing the plasterboard joints.
